Brazil Visa Guide for Pakistani Applicants

Pakistani citizens need a visa before travelling to Brazil for tourism, business, or family visits. The most common category is the VIVIS (Visitor Visa), which covers tourism, visiting family or friends, and attending cultural or academic events. Applications are submitted in person at the Embassy of Brazil in Islamabad, or through recognised Honorary Consulates in other major cities.

Work is not permitted on this visa. A separate work visa, sponsored by a Brazilian employer, is required for employment.

• Completed visa application form via the official Brazilian visa portal, with a passport photo attached
• Valid passport with at least six months’ validity and two blank pages
• Original bank deposit slip confirming visa fee payment
• Birth certificate (if single) or marriage certificate (if married), attested by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs
• Family Registration Certificate (FRC), attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
• Passport copy printed on A4-size paper (not resized or trimmed)
• Police character certificate, attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
• Hotel booking confirmation covering your entire stay in Brazil
• Bank statements showing sufficient funds for the trip
• Invitation letter, if visiting family or friends in Brazil

The Embassy of Brazil assesses VIVIS applicants mainly on:

• A genuine, clearly stated purpose for the trip
• Sufficient, well-documented financial resources
• Complete, consistent documentation, including properly attested civil status and family documents
• No intention to work or overstay in Brazil

Visa policy for Brazil is set by Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and administered by the Embassy of Brazil in Islamabad and its recognised Honorary Consulates. We check the Embassy of Brazil’s official guidance for the latest requirements and fee schedule before advising clients.

The Embassy recommends submitting your application at least 4-6 weeks before your planned travel date to allow for any additional document requests or, in some cases, an interview.

Applications are submitted in person at the Embassy of Brazil in Islamabad, or through recognised Honorary Consulates in cities such as Karachi or Lahore, subject to their jurisdiction. The Embassy may request an in-person or video interview in certain cases.

Can I pay the Brazil visa fee in Pakistani Rupees?
Typically the fee is deposited in BRL or USD equivalent via bank deposit, not directly in PKR — we confirm the current accepted payment method and amount before you apply, since fees are non-refundable regardless of outcome.

Do I need an invitation letter for a Brazil tourist visa?
An invitation letter is generally required only if you are visiting family or friends rather than travelling independently as a tourist with hotel bookings.

What if my visa is refused?
Visa fees are non-refundable. We review the reason for refusal and help you address any documentation gaps before reapplying.
